Usually my mailbox is overflowing with junk. If it's that important, I'll get it handed to me in a FedEx, or sent an e-mail, right?
But there's one thing that's very important that arrives via U.S. mail... my press credential to Augusta National. A simple white envelope that contains such coveted access inside. I actually feel honored to get this -- I even take a second to look at it before I open it. I cherish the moment.
But for our Class A, A-Retired and AA Life members, they carry around a golden ticket to Augusta all year. From the GCSAA Website:
The Masters (Augusta National). The governing body at Augusta National has extended complimentary daily admission to include all Class A, A-Retired, and AA Life members possessing a valid gold membership card. You are required to present your current gold GCSAA membership card along with your driver’s license at the Will Call booth each day to gain admission. The Will Call booth is located just inside Gate 3A, which is a walk-in gate located off Washington Ave. If you should exit the grounds at anytime during the day, you will be required to re-enter through Gate 3A and check back in at the Will Call booth, where once again, you will be required to present your gold GCSAA membership card and driver’s license to gain admittance.
How cool is that? Talk about a member benefit!
Augusta National, classy. Taking care of the superintendents.
I expect to see a lot of GCSAA logos out on the course...
