Bunkers360 in photos; on the road again

Things have been so quiet around these parts lately that I half expected to find tumbleweeds rolling across my screen when I came to make this post.

If you remember, Bunkers360 was the event that I attended a few weeks back in Roanoke, Va., where the Virginia Turfgrass Association turned over a portion of their regular meeting to the folks from SandTrapper and their GCSAA-approved educational program on bunker renovation. I've put some of the photos I took at that event in the album to give you a little closer look at what went on. In addition, you can check out a full report on the event in the Front 9 section of the June issue of the magazine once it hits your desk. Later in the week, I'll give you a similar look at National Golf Day through photos to augment the coverage you'll see in our Inside Your Game column in June.

Then next week, the road beckons and we'll welcome a guest blogger to our crew! I'll be heading to Minneapolis, Minn., for a pair of events in the Twin Cities — a media open house at The Toro Co.'s headquarters in Bloomington on Tuesday, followed by the annual meeting of the Turf and Ornamental Communicators Association (I'll be joined there by GCM editor in chief Ed Hiscock, GCM associate editor Darcy DeVictor and GCM NewsWeekly editor Ken Moum).

Simultaneously, we'll get the chance to formally introduce you to Bill Newton, the manager of media/public relations for GCSAA. We've given Bill a few shout outs on the blog for some of the news stories about golf course management that he's clued us in on, but next week Bill is heading to TPC Sawgrass for The Players. He'll be keeping tabs on the comings and going from Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.,  with a special emphasis on Fred Klauk's final tournament as the superintendent at Sawgrass and the transition to "the new guy," Tom Vlach, who will be on hand as well.
