Even though there were sporadic storms all day in New Orleans today, I still was able to get a lot done.
According to Peter Carew, superintendent at Brechtel Park Golf Course, they got about two inches of rain today... and about 8 inches in the last seven days. But besides one lightning bolt that about knocked me out of my Ford F-150 rental, the weather was just a minor nuisance. I was able to catch up with Carew this afternoon, and earlier in the day, I spent about two hours with Walker Sory, the super at Audubon Park Golf Club.
I've got to say, it feels good to be back here in New Orleans. The last time I was here was back in March of 2006. Click here to see those posts. I spent a week working on area courses. When I pulled up at Audubon, it felt like 2006 again. Walker came strolling out of the maintenance facility with a big smile on his face.
