Sounds like GCSAA board member Pat Finlen, CGCS has something new to add to his to-do list.
This story from the San Francisco Chronicle details the club's recent decision to rebuild all 18 of the greens on its Lake Course, less than four years before that layout will play host to the 2012 U.S. Open. The reason behind decision? According to the story, a nematode outbreak on the course's Poa annua greens is the culprit. As part of the renovation, the greens will be converted to bentgrass.
I'll give Pat a buzz after the holiday weekend to get more details on the renovation and post that report here later in the week.
