Significant changes are on the horizon for the GCSAA Education Conference and Golf Industry Show.
Beginning in 2010 in San Diego, the schedule for both the trade show and the education conference will get a face lift. The trade show will be compressed into two days, Wednesday and Thursday, with virtually no competing activities, while the education will take the spotlight Monday, Tuesday and Friday.
The following is a letter from GCSAA CEO Mark Woodward, CGCS to the association's Conference and Show Resource Group detailing the changes:
Dear CSRG Members,
We have exciting news about GCSAA Education Conference and Golf Industry Show beginning in 2010. To be clear, this is NOT about the 2009 Conference and Show in New Orleans. Beginning in 2010 in San Diego, the trade show portion of the event will now be conducted Wednesday and Thursday, with virtually no competing events. GCSAA education will be conducted Monday, Tuesday and Friday.
Why are we doing this?
Based on attendee and exhibitor feedback and supported by the advice of leading trade show experts, we have learned your weekend time is growing more and more valuable. You want to conduct your work during the week and spend time with your family on the weekend. Again, this change will not occur until the 2010 Conference and Show in San Diego. We made this announcement to exhibitors late last week and the response was overwhelmingly positive.
Sincerely,
Mark J. Woodward, CGCS
Chief Executive Officer
For those interested in more information about the pending changes, GCSAA has put together a convenient FAQ you can access by clicking here.
It would be nice if Mark & the GCSAA would get additional feedback from more members before making these decisions. I am sure Mark knows better than the majority of us.
