Wow, trying to play catch-up after a day-and-a-half out of the office... my daughter had what I think is a 24-hour virus. Then, my wife's grandfather Ramon is hospitalized and the whole family is on red alert... it's days like this that makes all my gray hair seem appropriate.
So, the March book is DONE. Out the door. Ink, meet paper, paper, meet mailbox. I'm feeling good about this issue -- aren't I always? You'll find a great profile on GCSAA's new president, Mark Kuhns, CGCS, director of grounds at Baltusrol GC in Springfield, N.J., penned by senior staff writer Terry Ostmeyer. You'll also be able to catch up on anything you may have missed at the GIS in New Orleans, as the GCMstaff all worked together to make sure we did our best to capture everything newsworthy and exciting at the show. You'll also find a superintendent-written story by Michael Brandon (pictured), superintendent of White Tail GC in Stevensville, Mont. White Tail GC is a one-of-a-kind golf course... you'll have to read Mike's story to find out why, but trust me, Mike has an interesting story, and he's pretty darn good at telling it.

Nice story about GCSAA Old Tom Morris Award winner Charlie Sifford, courtesy ESPN and Bob Harig.
I mentioned during the GIS that Club Car had a cool new system for monitoring golf cars... here's a video about the product, called "Guardian SVC." The video starts off very M. Night Shyamalan -- I half-expected the trees to start attacking the golfers or something -- but then the camera shoots off the face of the earth (seriously) and then comes back down to earth to show us what the system does. When it's all said and done, it's actually a lot better than the last few Shyamalan movies I've seen.
If you didn't get the title of this post, shame on you. It's not too obscure to make random Pulp Fiction references, is it? If it is, here's the link, then go out and rent the movie for full effect.
...and now daycare just called, my daughter is still sick, apparently. I'll have to cut this one off short... so the Queens of the Stone Age video I was going to link for Greg Lyman (it's one of his favorite bands) will just have to wait. In the meantime, if you have link-envy from the Club Car link I just put up, feel free to send me your cool M. Night Shyamalan-esque movie meets golf course product link and if I dig it, I'll put it up here someday.
