There's a few lucky individuals on the GCM staff in possession of an iPhone (yeah, I'm talking about you!), and they spend a great deal of their free time talking about apps, downloading apps and researching the latest and greatest applications that can bring convenience or frivolity to their lives.
So it struck my attention to see two new downloadable apps that can give superintendents (the ones lucky enough to own an iPhone or iTouch, at least) portable safety training and assessment tools. Think-Safe, maker of first aid training and rescuer products, has available in the iPhone app store at no cost its ResQr MedTag, which offers quick access to your emergency information in unexpected situations. The app lets you store your personal info, conditions and allergies, medications you're currently taking, insurance details, preferred hospital and doctor, and more. Consider it a med bracelet on your phone.
Also available at the app store for about 10 bucks is the ResQr Rescuer Software, a training tool and emergency coach that allows you to assist victims of more than 30 of the most common emergencies. The app prompts you through a list of yes-no questions to deliver step-by-step instructions on how to handle an emergency on or off the golf course. It also offers a nearest ER locator, easy 911 dialing and access to CPR assistance.
Thanks for letting people know about ResQr First Aid & CPR Darcy!
At Think Safe we are constantly working on improving ResQr (pronounced "rescuer") and have some exciting things in the works. We are looking forward to making the current versions of ResQr First Aid & CPR and MedTag even better.
Check us out in the iTunes App Store and leave some feedback on what people think of the apps. We look forward to making them as good as possible to better serve the needs of emergency rescuers.

Wishing you a long and healthy life!
