I'm back from a week-long vacation. Went down to south Texas (Mission) to see my wife's brother, Alex, graduate from high school.
I did take one day off at the beginning of my vacation to get some golf in at the Club at Stone Canyon in Lee's Summit, Mo. The course had been open for all of a week when I got to play it. I had a chance to speak with the superintendent, Daryl Pearson, and I'll have a post regarding that visit soon. For now, I want to turn it over to Daryl's brother, Darin, who is the superintendent of Alvamar Country Club here in Lawrence. Darin was interviewed by the local paper, the Lawrence Journal-World, and they wrote up a nice feature here.
I can't believe it's already June 1st. This year is flying by. Hopefully the June issue hits your mailbox soon. I'll post the complete interview with this month's Reflections later this week here.
Right now, I'm still trying to get my work sea legs -- sifting through emails and stories. Are we really halfway through 2009 already?
Parting shot -- the new Manchester Orchestra CD is really, really solid. Check it out, check it out.
