The polls are now open for GCM's very first Most Valuable Technician Award, which is being presented in partnership with Foley United. From the 67 nominations we received for this award — which recognizes the best and brightest equipment technicians in golf — a team of industry judges narrowed the field first to 11 semifinalists and then to the three finalists who are vying for this year's title. Those finalists are:
- Herb Berg, Oakmont (Pa.) CC
- Cliff Henning, Whistling Straits, Kohler, Wis.
- Ramon Salas, Azusa Greens CC, Azusa, Calif.
Now, the rest is up to you. You can visit
this page on the GCM Web site to read short bios on each candidate and the full nomination letter we received from each technician's superintendent. That page will also link you to the voting page. Voting runs through Sunday, May 9, and we'll officially profile the winning technician in the Insider: Shop column in the July issue of
GCM. So vote now and vote often! Well, at least vote once. You only get to vote once.
