It's been awhile since we've brought your attention to some of the new superintendent-written blogs that have crossed our desk, but rest assured ... the blogging revolution in the golf course management industry rolls on.
First up is Glen Riddle Golf Club in Berlin, Md. The assistant superintendent there, Cody Beckley, fired up their blog over the winter, and he's kept it updated with an interesting mix of commentary and in-depth maintenance issues facing the club. Cody has also gotten active with updates on his Twitter account (@GlenRiddleGolf). "Not many people read it," Cody joked in an e-mail, "but I keep it for myself and the members here at the course." Hopefully we can change that a little bit, Cody!
Next, we head to Bloomfield, N.J., and the Forest Hill Field Club where Class A superintendent and 15-year GCSAA member Frank Tichenor started his blog just a few short weeks ago. Already, he's compiled a nice mix of updates that have highlighted his team's removal of some tree damage on the course, an in-depth update of pest problems the course is facing and how they're dealing with them and a little call-out via photo to some golfers who were taking their carts in areas they shouldn't. Tichenor is also on Twitter, @FHFCGREENS.
