We're just two shorts weeks away from the start of U.S. Open week, so I'm considering it an opportune time to mention our annual behind-the-scenes coverage of golf course maintenance activities right here on the GCM blog. I'm on the ground in California on Sunday, June 13 and at Pebble Beach on Monday, June 14, so make sure to check back often that week as we give you all the inside skinny from superintendent Chris Dalhamer, CGCS and the rest of the crew at Pebble.
To get you in the mood for one of the biggest weeks in golf, we're proud to present a little audio from U.S. Open Media Day several weeks ago, when the USGA's Mike Davis, the senior director of rules and competition who is charged with all matters of course set-up for the championship, spent most of his time in front of the media praising the work of Dalhamer and his crew. "I've never seen Pebble Beach as good as it is right now," Davis said.
