Industry trade association RISE — Responsible Industry for a Sound Environment — has a new man at the top.
The group that represents manufacturers, formulators and distributors of specialty pesticides and fertilizers has named Aaron Hobbs as its new president. Hobbs replaces longtime RISE president Allen James, whose retirement following 20 years with the organization became official today.
Hobbs is no stranger to RISE. He's been the association's director of legislative affairs and grassroots outreach since March 2009, and served as the association's president-elect since June 1. In his new role, Hobbs will be responsible for the leadership and management of the association, which is an affiliate of CropLife America.
"Our decision to promote Aaron Hobbs to the position of president comes after a long and thoughtful process," says Joshua H. Weeks, a past chairman of the RISE Governing Board who led the search committee. "Aaron understands the important work of RISE and brings his considerable energy and creativity to our association and its most critical issues."
