Wow, the silence around this place has been deafening, huh? You can blame it on laziness, but I prefer to consider our staff's dedication to putting the finishing touches on the October issue of GCM as the reason our posts have slowed to a trickle lately. Don't worry, though ... we're back!
And we're back with something that should get your heart pumping, especially if you're a NASCAR fan (and from my experiences, I know many superintendents are). One of our industry partners, engine manufacturer Briggs & Stratton, has put together a little contest for its customers that could net the winner a trip to "stock car racing's premier 2011 event" (I'm gonna guess that's the Daytona 500. Not sure why they couldn't spell that out in the news release, but I'm sure there's a good reason they went all generic on us).
The promotion is called the Vanguard Power Chase, obviously named after the company's Vanguard line of engines, and is basically a pick-'em contest for NASCAR's final 10 races, the so-called "Chase for the Sprint Cup." Competitors will visit the website linked above and pick their favorites to win those final races. Points will be awarded on where those drivers finish, and the grand prize is a four-day trip to the previously mentioned "premier 2011 event" in stock car racing. A whole host of other prizes are also available.
The Chase for the Cup begins this weekend, so you'll want to get your picks in quickly. Again, just visit the Vanguard Power Chase website to get started.
Thanks Guys! This looks fun!
Goin' to Daytona! The Caddyshack Attack is Unstoppable!
