Earlier this week, one of our industry's best spokesmen and one of the truly good guys that you'll meet in this business — Mark Esoda, CGCS at Atlanta Country Club in Marietta, Ga. — was among four new members inducted into the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame.
Mark's contributions to not only his club, where he's served as superintendent for the past 22 years, but also his industry are truly notable. He's been at the forefront of efforts in Georgia to position superintendents as the true experts on the efficient and wise use of water, efforts that netted him GCSAA's Excellence in Government Relations Award in 2004. He received a distinguished service award from the Georgia Section of the PGA in 2005, and was recognized with GCSAA's Col. John Morley Distinguished Service Award in 2009. In a nutshell, he's earned his way into Georgia's golf shrine.
