Since I think probably half the country is going to get their own little taste of the winter storm that is currently tearing through the central part of the U.S., I won't bore you with my own little battle with the Blizzard of Oz (that's what we're calling it in Kansas). Suffice to say, with a little juggling of my travel schedule and a very, very early wake-up call, I got out of Kansas City a few hours before the worst of it and am now in West Palm Beach, Fla., site of this year's GCSAA National Championship and Golf Classic.
Getting an early start to my first full day here. We'll be meeting up with Lukus Harvey, PGA National's director of agronomy, and his team for a photo shoot that will consume most of the morning both today and tomorrow. We're trying to freshen up GCSAA's collection of maintenance-related photos that you'll begin to see in various communication vehicles over the course of this year, and figured there was no better place and time for that then while we were onsite for this week's events.
I'll check in later with more thoughts from my first turn around the property here. You can also follow us at @GCM_Magazine on Twitter for even more insight from all the activities in Florida over the next two weeks.
