A new hour-long documentary on the golf and the role of architecture and design in the game is set to debut on PBS in August.
"Golf's Grand Design," produced with the assistance of Bob Cupp, the president of the American Society of Golf Course Architects, and Ron Whitten, the golf architecture editor for Golf Digest (and a former editor with GCM), will be broadcast in HD on PBS stations across the country Friday, Aug. 3 at 10 p.m. (check local listings). The show features interviews with a host of golf course architects — from Cupp to Jack Nickluas, Pete Dye and Bill Coore — and focuses on the history of golf course design, highlighting some of the finest American golf courses.
