You got the feeling real quick that Tiger Woods would give The Ocean Course course superintendent Jeff Stone a high-five, fist bump, or pat on the back, given the opportunity.
As golfer assessments started to roll in today about their thoughts on The Ocean Course, site of this week's 94th PGA Championship at Kiawah Island, S.C., Woods provided some nice reference material for Stone's career achievement list.
"The fairways are perfect, greens are perfect," Woods said. "I like what this golf course has, and it's just a wonderful piece of property."
Woods also applauded course designer Pete Dye.
"One of the things you learn about Pete's golf courses is a lot of it is visual. There's a lot more room out there, whether it's on the fairways or on the greens, than you think," he said. "He just makes you look the other way, and he's a masterful designer in that way."
Masters champion Bubba Watson echoed some of Woods' sentiments.
"I think the golf course is in perfect shape," Watson said. "The greens are nice. They're rolling good. I think it's going to be a great test. I think they're going to make us work."
