The National Turfgrass Evaluation Program is asking for assistance from superintendents, other turf professionals and even homeowners who have an interest in bermudagrass. NTEP would like interested individuals to take a brief survey to provide input regarding the parameters for its 2013 bermudagrass trials.
NTEP Executive Director Kevin Morris explained the survey to GCM:
“NTEP surveys its customers to learn more about what issues they are facing and the types of improvements they desire in new grasses. With our new bermudagrass trial, we are interested in your reader’s thoughts on traits such as drought and salt tolerance, disease and insect resistance, recovery from traffic damage, etc. Also, if your readers are interested in converting more of their course to bermuda, or if they are considering installing bermuda greens, we want to know that as well. Basically, any thoughts, comments or needs related to bermudagrass cultivars . . . we want to hear them through the survey.”
The survey consists of six multiple choice questions, including “What bermudagrass characteristics are most important to you?” and “In which regions should NTEP establish trials?” Each of the six questions offers space for additional comments, and a seventh question provides survey takers with another opportunity to comment on the trials and what they would like to learn from them.
Please take the survey by Nov. 1, 2012. The survey is available online at http://survey.constantcontact.com/survey/a07e6a9ln19h63zr9wy/a0210yh6qizv1w/questions. Address all queries to NTEP Executive Director Kevin Morris at kmorris@ntep.org or 301-504-5125.
