Although I'm certain that the face that looks back at me in the mirror each morning isn't old enough to say something like this, I find myself reporting to you today from my 14th GCSAA Golf Championship in San Diego, an event that will kick off GCM's and GCSAA's full-court coverage of the 2013 GCSAA Education Conference and Golf Industry Show.
In that time, the tournament has been played in San Diego two previous times. But this is the first time that those proceedings have used the facilities at Torrey Pines (above is a panoramic shot of the first tee on the South Course — far left — and the first tee of the North — in the center). It's a fantastic locale, and along with the four other facilities that are hosting tournament play, will serve as a great host to the 450-plus GCSAA members on hand to take part.
The purpose of this short post isn't to rub your faces in the fact that its 72 and beautiful here (OK, maybe a little). More accurately, I wanted to point your attention to our Twitter account — @GCM_Magazine — which will have more regular reports from the tournament and to the fact that our reports from GIS begin in earnest on Monday. Hope you'll enjoy it all over the course of the next week
