Jack Fry, Ph.D., the noted professor of turfgrass science and the director of the Rocky Ford Turfgrass Research Center at Kansas State University — as well as one of GCM's regular columnists — is asking GCSAA members for their help in a project studying the Rules of Golf and golf course maintenance activities.
Fry is inviting superintendents to participate in a 20-question, short-answer survey about this topic, with one participating superintendent winning a case of red hazard marking paint and a marking wand, courtesy of Standard Golf. The survey is designed to determine how important superintendents believe the Rules of Golf are in their maintenance activities, evaluate who is responsible for marking hazards on the golf course and determine superintendent’s knowledge of the Rules of Golf.
