The Toro Co. broke ground yesterday on a $25 million expansion to its headquarters in Bloomington, Minn.
It's a 75,000 square-foot addition; expect it to be completed by next summer. Toro is celebrating its 100-year anniversary in 2014, and the expansion is expected to be complete at that time. The expansion is going to provide Toro with more office space and a larger area for testing and new product development.
Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton was among the dignitaries on hand for the groundbreaking. Toro Chief Executive Officer Mike Hoffman participated. He climbed aboard a Toro RT600 utility trencher and backhoe to break up asphalt.
