The file names of these photos tell most of the story, but this is Belle Haven Country Club's 18th hole, viewed from green to tee. Four days of heavy rain resulted in flooding on the course in late June.
The 12th hole, viewed from the tee, at the Alexandria, Va., course, where Mike Augustin is the GCSAA Class A superintendent.
This was the only part of the 12th green that was showing during the height of the flooding.
If you look at the far right portion of this bridge, you can see a barge that broke loose during the flooding and prompted officials to make an uncontrolled release of waters at Lake Barcroft, which contributed to the flooding at Belle Haven.
Belle Haven had two flood pumps on the property, but both were quickly overwhelmed by June's flooding. Augustin says he'll work to elevate the pumps so they'll be able to operate in the event of future flooding.

Once the water receded, the maintenance staff at Belle Haven went to work. This is the first fairway after being washed clean of as much silt and mud as possible.
