Here's the way the greenside bunker on the fifth hole at Blue Hills GC in Roanoke, Va., looked before the gang from SandTrapper and Landscapes Unlimited got a hold of it for the Bunkers360 event in early April.
The day before the Viriginia Turfgrass Association meeting that would be anchored by the Bunkers360 program, crews from Landscapes Unlimited get to work on the bunker renovation project.

Attendees at the Bunkers 360 event get their first look at the work being done to this greenside bunker on the fifth hole at Blue Hills CC.
While attendees looked on, the crew from Landscapes Unlimited began installation of the bunker drainage system using SandTrapper's new Sifon drain belt system (that's the green material lying in the center of the photo).
Workers lay the central drain pipe. The Sifon drain belt system pulls water from the surface of the bunker and directs it to these lines, which drain away from the bunker.
Bunkers360 attendees were able to study the work on the bunker at their own pace and ask questions of both SandTrapper and Landscapes Unlimited representatives, who were overseeing the work.

Workers spread a thin layer of sand into shallow trenches dug vertically into the floor of this bunker. The Sifon drain belts then are installed over that sand.
