Well, that was a disappointing end to the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines.
There wasn't much drama going down the stretch... until Michael Sim had a chance to go for it on No. 18 and put the pressure on his playing partner, eventual winner Ben Crane.
Feherty told the audience that Sim had a 2-iron in his hands. That got everyone in the booth to perk up. Sim had 240+ to go to the green. Then... wait-a-minute... that's not a 2-iron... that's a 7-iron.
Turns out Sim's caddie gave Feherty a "2" sign with his hand, which can mean 2-iron or 7-iron. Given the situation, Feherty assumed Sim was going to hit a 2. Unfortunately for the viewing audience, we instead were treated to a layup 7-iron.
BOR-ING! Sim played a totally unremarkable hole, which prompted Feherty to announce, "he laid it up three times in a row."

What do you think? Did Sim make the right play? He did finish in a 3-way tie for second place...
Regardless, it's fun to see golf back on TV... congrats to Ben Crane, and congrats to the staff at Torrey Pines for again showcasing a beautiful golf course.
Now, back to looking for that 1989 Ping Eye 2 wedge I had in my garage...
