Harrell’s, a leading distributor of customized agronomic products for turfgrass since 1941, has pledged $250,000 to GCSAA's philanthropic organization, the Environmental Institute for Golf (EIFG), to support priority initiatives of advocacy, environmental programs and best management practices.
“We are committed to long-term support for golf course superintendents and the promotion of the fine work that they do,” said Jack R. Harrell Jr., chairman and CEO of the Florida-based company. “Together we can show the full benefits of the golf industry while helping to grow a better world.”
This latest pledge extends the company's long-standing and generous support of the EIFG and GCSAA superintendents and lifts Harrell’s to status in the EIFG Star Club, with cumulative donations between $500,000 and $999,999. In addition, Jack R. Harrell Jr. previously served on the EIFG advisory council.
“We truly appreciate the trust Harrell’s has shown in our association. It’s through their support that we are able to provide vital programs and services, such as advocacy and best management practices, that allow our members to make golf more sustainable,” said Rhett Evans, GCSAA CEO. “We are indebted to Harrell’s, a long-term partner and friend to this profession.”
